O'Keeffe & Mooney, "Avondale " Tipperary Town,Veterinary Surgeons opened its doors on July 1st , 1955. DJ O' Keeffe and FM Mooney,both having met and trained together in the Veterinary College Dublin,joined forces and commenced their partnership.For 10 years prior to 1955 it was also a veterinary practice and was run by a Veterinarian by the name of Jack Cooney .
For the next 30 years Dan and Frank served the farming community and built up a very loyal customer base , until Frank's untimely death in 1985 , since then Dan has continued as principle of the practice .

In February of 2013 Dr. William Ryan, a native of Tipperary Town joined the practice.  William qualified from the veterinary college Dublin in 1998 and has worked in Ireland and the UK for many years.

William was awarded a doctorate in veterinary science in 2010 for his research into animal nutrition and has published his work internationally. His interests include heard health and companion animal surgery, William has successfully completed the advanced veterinary  certificate in small animal surgery with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons London in 2017.
