The Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 came into force on 6th March 2014. This legislation will have an effect on every day farming and animal care. Specifically sections 11 to 24 which relate to animal welfare and in particular sections 16 and 17 which relate to surgical and veterinary procedures and the use of anaesthetics.
